I Am Not A Wabbit
For some reason, the fine folks at BLOGGER, believe that I am a rabbit...or that my chinese zodiac sign is that of the rabbit (which can be seen in my updated profile). I take umbrage with this, for as the chosen child of 1976, I am clearly a DRAGON. I have been one for thirty grand years and look forward to being one for at least another thirty (hopefully twice that). In fact, according to the Chinese Cultural Center of San Francisco...People born in the Year of the Dragon are healthy, energetic, excitable, short-tempered, and stubborn. They are also honest, sensitive, brave, and they inspire confidence and trust. Dragon people are the most eccentric of any in the eastern zodiac.
Excluding the "excitable and short-tempered" decription (WHERE THE HELL DO THEY GET OFF CALLIN' ME THAT?!), I embody many of these descripters. Other well respected dragons include: Martin Luther King Jr., John Lennon, Bruce Lee and my dad--that's a good group to swill some beers with (...although strangely enough, each of them was assasinated--except for my dad, whew!).
Anyway, dragons clearly contribute great things to the world and I aim to add to the list as another cold-blooded, scaly, fire-breathing, behemoth. Rabbits on the other hand...well, I don't know much about rabbits (never having been one), but according to the scrupulous research at the San Francisco Cultural Center....
Rabbits are articulate, talented, and ambitious. They are virtuous, reserved, and have excellent taste. Rabbit people are admired, trusted, and are often financially lucky. They are fond of gossip but are tactful and generally kind. Rabbit people seldom lose their temper. They are clever at business and being conscientious, never back out of a contract. They would make good gamblers for they have the uncanny gift of choosing the right thing. However, they seldom gamble, as they are conservative and wise. Famous Rabbits include: Albert Einstein, Napoleon and Bugs (Bunny, Esq.)
Now, see, this fits me to a tee too! Huh. Is it possible to be one thing your entire life, encompass all its fine attributes fully, and yet also embody another group? Could I be a Dragon with Rabbit Rising? As a newbie to this blogging phenomenon, I haven't yet discovered all the secrets of this technological whirlwind (which clearly has some ancient wisdom spiraling through its diodes). Even though I was born a Dragon, the Blogger Gods have sensed the sleeping Rabbit within and have chosen this special night to awaken it. Could I be the first of a new breed: a...DRAGGIT!?
