The Graphic Classroom just posted a great review of Blood-Bound Oath. Click the banner above for the review. A little about the site from its editor Chris Wilson:

“The Graphic Classroom is a resource for teachers and librarians to help them stock high quality, educational-worthy, graphic novels and comics in their classroom or school library. I read and review every graphic novel or comic on this blog and give it a rating as to appropriateness for the classroom.”

PRESS RELEASE: A Bard’s Tale

May 24, 2007, filed under: Kid B., The Series, by Lex

A Bard’s Tale

Cartoonist Alexis E. Fajardo finds a new home for his epic, all-ages series, Kid Beowulf, at Bowler Hat Comics, an innovative publishing imprint launching in Spring 2008 with the series as its flagship title.

Previously published by Lexpress, the series will be relaunched with a “new translation” of Kid Beowulf—including a revamped storyline and all-new artwork. Tentatively titled A Bard’s Tale, book one of the series recounts the story of Beowulf and Grendel, not as enemies, but as twin brothers with a fierce sibling rivalry. Can they be united as a family, or will their bickering foul the land of Denmark?

Following A Bard’s Tale, Beowulf and Grendel continue to explore the myths and legends of history as they find themselves continually caught up in the epic tales of cultures across the world. Whether in France, Spain, or around the world, they are sure to encounter colorful characters out of the pages of history books, such as the devout Joan of Arc or the fiery El Cid.

With unique twists to age-old epics and fresh laughs abounding, Kid Beowulf draws in an audience young and old, ages 9 to 99. Artwork, inspired by classic cartoonists, eases children and young adults—both in age and in heart—into the worlds of epic storytelling and history, encouraging the exploration of original source material. Kid Beowulf is sure to inspire education through engaging entertainment.

Bowler Hat Comics brings a fresh perspective to the world of comics by publishing works exploring storytelling techniques that combine words and pictures. Whether it be graphic novels or illustrated novels, expect a sense of sophisticated whimsy from Bowler Hat. Bowler Hat Comics is an imprint of Ink & Paper Group.
